Reception and Key Stage 1 pupils follow the Read Write Inc scheme.
The Read Write Inc spelling scheme is followed from Year 2.
Children are assessed every six weeks to determine which phonics group is most suitable for each child.
Reception and Year 1 pupils follow the Read Write Inc storybooks. We then use a combination of reading schemes as children progress. For example: Oxford Reading Tree and Tree Tops. These give a variety of fiction and non-fiction books to develop children’s reading range.
All children are encouraged to visit the library weekly and choose their own book to take home and share.
